With the Mariazell railway to Mariazell and up to the Bürgeralpe.
 

Car-free day trip to Mariazell: you travel on the Mariazell Railway from the provincial capital of St. Pölten through the Alpine foothills to Mariazell, past breathtaking scenery and nature. After a short walk, the Bürgeralpe Express takes you up to the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe. Here in Holzknechtland, a 1.5-hectare leisure park at over 1200 metres above sea level, you can experience what life was like for lumberjacks and forestry in the past. There is a forest railway and many play stations. At the observation tower you can enjoy a boundless view of the region around Mariazell.

The Mariazell railway will take you back to St. Pölten in comfort.

• 25 October to 2 November: daily
